Welcome to the Penguin's Youth Lacrosse Team website, your source for information to make your lacrosse season a success. 

The website has been designed to assist coaches, parents, players, administrators, and officials find the information they need to stay informed.

U15 Champs at the 2017 Ice Breaker Tournament

Our U15 took 1st place at the 2017 Ice Breaker Tournament over the weekend.  They went 4 - 0 and won 11 - 4 over Team One in the finals.  Check out the picture page to see the champs.

The Lacrosse Shooting Academy

The Lacrosse Shooting Academy is coming to Falcon Park on February 18th from 6:30 - 9:30 pm.  This is a great way to improve on your shooting abilities.

Shooting Immersion is a fully immersive day camp specifically designed to help you unlock the true potential you have as a shooter. Through our teachings of mental frameworks and proper bio-mechanics you will learn how to surpass any limitations to achieve your goals and take control of your shot. Ultimately, you will transform from a shooter to afinisher!

Spring Registration​

You can register for the Spring Penguins season on either the Palatine or Arlington Heights Park District Websites.  We needed to raise the cost of our program to $240 due to the increase in the cost of league fees and coaches.

We are planning on doing a number of different tournaments through out the spring, so stay tuned. 

The league (IBLA) that we are in is moving away from age based divisions and moving to grade based.  Below you will find details on the new divisions.

  1. Majors - 8/7th Grade
    1. 10 v 10.
    2. All counts 
    3. Full length Long sticks allowed
  2. Minors - 6/5th Grade
    1. 10 v 10.
    2. All counts
    3. Full length Long sticks allowed
  3. Juniors - 4/3rd Grade
    1. 10 v 10.
    2. No counts, except for 10 sec goalie count.
    3. No Long Poles, Sticks can be between 38 - 42 inches.
  4. Mini's - 2/1st Grade (Flat Level all players should be equally dispersed) 
    1. 7 v 7 Game play (2, 2, 2 & Goalie)
    2. 2 - 20 minute halfs
    3. Face off after every goal

Spring Clinic

We will be running a spring clinic starting Thursday 2/23.  The session will be a one-hour training session and you can register at the Palatine Park District.

Winter Box Lacrosse

- If you are interested in Box Lacrosse, please visit Penguinsboxlax.com for more information.  They are offering Box Lacrosse session starting in November.

The registration for Penguins Box winter league is now open.  Based on the lack of availability of Soccer City we are going to be running field sessions at Falcon Park this year. Like the Box sessions, there is be 7 on 7 along with the goalie.  The field sessions will have Defense, Attack and Middies positions.  We also have a new 3rd/4th grade league along with a High School league.

  • Box Sessions at Soccer City
    • Session II 9 weeks starting Monday 1/4-2/29
      • Grade: 5th/6th – Mondays at 7:00-8:00 pm
    • **Times and days are subject to change based off registration
  • Field Sessions at Falcon Park (D Poles Allowed)
    • Session II 9 weeks starting Wednesday 1/4-3/1
      • Grade: 3rd/4th – Wednesday at 5:00 – 6:00 pm
      • Grade: 7th/8th – Wednesday at 6:00-7:00 pm
      • Grade: HS - Wednesday at 7:00-8:00 pm
    • **Times and days are subject to change based off registration

2016 Season Notes

  • We had 232 kids.
  • We had 12 teams, up from 11 in 2015.
  • We played 152 games as a program.
  • We participated in 4 tournaments.
  • We had 12 new coaches.... However we still need more.
  • We were able to host the U15 B IBLA playoffs.
  • Our U9, U11, U13 and U15 Black team took the championship in the Silver Brackets.

- The Penguins put 3 teams in the Lake Geneva Tournament and 5 teams in the Pipe City Tournament.
